Homelessness has become one of the benchmarks by which society measures the demarcation for failure and success. Yet, it can be a simple series of unplanned circumstances and decisions that can leave one on the street in a state of disbelief or regret. Whether the streets have been their home for a while or finding somewhere to rest their head is new, it's important that they hear us say, "You are not completely alone, and you are worthy of attention and help". To demonstrate this, backpacks are being put together with basic supplies they will need because just like us, they need daily essentials.

Each backpack will contain: 2 water bottles, a large Ziploc of assorted snacks, 1 short sleeve and long sleeve T-shirt, 1 pair of socks, lotion, sunscreen, deodorant, 1 blanket, 1 pair of gloves, 1 heavy-duty poncho, baby wipes, an emergency blanket, a baseball cap, chapstick, gum packets, bandaids, Neosporin, pain relief patches, 1 black trash bag, 5 masks, hand sanitizer, and a laminated handwritten card to weather all storms.

Often, we see the homeless and buy them food, give them water, and sometimes money, but there is an unspoken feeling that lingers because we know they need so much more. Let's let our act of kindness be the "more" that they need

Our nation's homeless have become road signs that point us in the other direction, but these are real people, not road signs. Their lives can be a welcoming destination for our kindness. A place to show love and grace.
