The Diversity Dialogues Master Class

The Diversity Dialogues Master Class is a train-the-trainer platform is designed to help potential facilitators in building the foundation needed for effectively guiding discussions on diversity, personal growth, and social justice. Within the virtual weekly meeting (as well as between session work), this 6-week program is meant to help future facilitators

  • Identify steps for assisting others to explore their own cultural identities and expression
  • Practice skills needed for facilitating difficult dialogue around diversity
  • Demonstrate communication and clarifying skills needed for facilitating understanding between diverse individuals
  • Demonstrate skills for fostering and validating diversity through relationship
  • Demonstrate skills for fostering and validating diversity through group process
  • Leverage group process factors such as universality, interpersonal learning, altruism, and existential factors for developing empathy and cohesion between diverse individuals
  • Demonstrate five (5) necessary skills for encouraging bravery in group member engagement related to responding and providing feedback 
  • Utilize an empirically validated measure for improving group participation outcomes
  • Identify at least 1 aspect of their social advocacy identity

Legacy instructional staff will facilitate the course synchronously each week (live) and provide guidance in using the between-session online platform. The additional option for post-course consultation is available as participants move into the role of group facilitators for their organization.
